Virtual Empire Hostname lookup tool
For every computer on the Internet there is a IP address and for every IP address there is a hostname, the hostname is simply a human name to make things easy for us. Just like your website name, example our main website www.virtualempire.com's ipaddress is 66.84.242.10
This allows computers to talk to each other on the Internet and verify who they are.
In order to lookup these ip to hostname addresses, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) configures the service you use with them to do this via DNS servers lookups.
Sometimes your ISP does not do this or there computers are not configured correctly. Under RFC Internet Standards this is required!
When you or someone else attempts to send email to a Virtual Empire Mail servers we check the following.
We do a lookup of the connecting computers IP address. We then print what your internet provider reports as your hostname of your computer. From the hostname we then lookup your IP address.
If we can not perform the lookup, then the connection will not be made and you will have troubles sending email.
If this is the case, you need to contact your Internet providers technical support and report to them , that the ip address of your connection we provide below does not have a reverse dns and to add one!
Your Connected ip : 38.107.179.208
Your hostname is: 38.107.179.208
Your reported ipaddress is: 38.107.179.208
Your reversed ip to hostname: 38.107.179.208
We understand there is alot of information here, for the most part unless you get an FAILED error your mail should be fine. However if you do get an error this error IS caused by the remote Internet Service Providers Configuration.
Reverse HOSTNAME to IP FAILED, when we looked up your IP address 38.107.179.208, your Internet provider
reported the hostname was 38.107.179.208. However, when we attempted to lookup the ip address for that hostname
they reported the wrong address.
Please contact your Internet provider and report that they failed a full reverse dns lookup
NOTE: Mail deliver can be interupted because of YOUR ISP or the ISP of the person sending you email. You can ask the people sending you email to use this tool to lookup there addresses and ask there ISP's to fix problems.
